Some More S'mores, please!

We had S'mores for dessert last Sunday at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It was Izzy's first S'more, so she had a disaster, just as if it was cake on her first birthday. My family is so good about flattering me when I take pictures. Nice big open mouths for the pictures!

Busy Izzy

Here are a couple pictures of Izzy from the soccer tournament in Fargo. One is from Friday, when she had her hat on and the other one is of her and her godfather, Jim. She hasn't seen him for quite awhile, but plopped herself in his lap, just the same. Thanks to spending so much time with her daddy, she is very comfortable with guys.

Soccer Tournament

Last weekend we spent Friday and Saturday in Fargo for the Tri-City Soccer Tournament. We stayed at a hotel (which was an experience in it's self, lets just say we ended up staying for free!) so the kids got to go swimming. We also went to Scheel's. Zachary's team played 3 games (1 Friday and 2 Saturday) and although they lost all of them, they played with their hearts and weren't upset over the final scores of the games. Zachary played goalie in the second half of all three games and LOVED it! At Scheel's we needed to get him some socks and then he got some goalie gloves that he used on Saturday. We also picked up a couple things for school clothes. Izzy was really interested in the faris wheel, but she is far from big enough to ride on it, so we tried to go by it really fast so she wouldn't linger. She was so tired that she was in rare form anyway. We retired to the hotel for the evening to watch "Night at the Museum" on HBO. Zachary is really good at goalie and they all cheer each other on so much. They are a great, young team and so fun to watch. It's been fun as parents going to the games as well. Maddie and Justin stayed with some friends for the day on Friday and then they went with Grandma Vicki over night and for the day on Saturday. Izzy came with us and was a trooper in the heat, although on Saturday she tried running on the field more than once, so during the second game was mostly confined to my lap. We used our umbrella and tons of sunscreen and drank tons of water.

Father's Day

I tried to get pictures on Father's Day, but Zachary had just injured his wrist, so wasn't very cooperative. Then on the half-way decent one, Izzy decided that she was going to be a goof ball. Oh, the joys of picture taking with so many kiddos. Then the other picture is of my brother Brad on his first Father's Day with his little girl, Olivia. Check out her intense eyes!

There were 3 in the Bed...

Well, a couple of weeks ago we had some bad weather but the kids needed to get to bed. So, I put Izzy in the pack-n-play in Justin's room and then pulled out the hide-a-bed and lined the other three up. Well, as you can see from the pictures, Miss Maddie is used to sleeping in a full size bed alone, while the boys sleep in twin beds, often with each other.

Growing Up

Miss Izzy isn't a little baby anymore!!! We threw the paci away almost a month ago and then we graduated to a big bed the next week. We have the intentions of buying the boys loft beds, but it will have to wait a little while longer. So, we took the top bunk off of Zachary's bunk beds for the Big Girl. She was trying to be very helpful, but had to be removed from the area a couple of times. She stayed in her bed for the first week, but since then she usually takes her naps on the floor by the door. She finally falls asleep after knocking on the door and hollaring "Mommy" for some time. She is doing just fine, even though Mommy is a little sad every time she puts her Big Girl in her big bed, with no paci.

Zachary's B-Day

This year we celebrated Zachary's 9th Birthday a little late. The last weeks of school were so busy so we decided to wait a little bit and then he invited some friends for a party at the YMCA. They played kickball in the gym, ate cake, opened presents and then we all went swimming for a while. It was great to be able to have so many of his friends there and it was really reasonably priced. Justin is saying he wants his party there and Zachary is already saying he wants his party there again next year. I guess it was a huge hit.

Zachary Boyd, Goalie

Here is Zachary during warm-ups for soccer getting ready for his position @ goalie. He helped his team win their first game that day.

Maddie's End of Year Party

Maddie has loved having Miss Deb for two years. Here are pictures from her end of the year party that they do every year for parents and friends. I actually had jury duty that day, but was done in time to make it to see her and her friends.

Field Trip to Zoo

Trav helped me out one day by taking my place to go on a field trip with Justin's class to the Zoo in Whapeton. I even got him to take some pictures! Here's the crew he was in charge of for the day.

Duluth

We haven't been to Duluth since Maddie was almost 1! So, almost 4 years later, we made the trek to visit Autie Steph, Uncle Brad and Cousin Olivia over Memorial Day weekend. We went to the zoo and saw a couple big ships. It was a ton of fun and we can't wait until we go again! Oh, but we'll make sure we bring a lot more warm clothes.

Mother's Day

We spent Mother's Day at my parent's house and Brad and Steph and Lil Livi were there too. I've always seen these cool scrapbook pages of Mother's Day pictures but haven't had any pictures to scrap, so I made a point of having pictures taken with each of my kids and then with all of them.

Cuddling with Olivia

Anyone who knows my kids knows that they love babies. Well, little Miss Olivia is no exception and because she is our cousin, she gets swamped immediately when she comes in to view.
